Things to Do
We all love camping and the things we do during that time but sometimes you want a little more. There are many things you can do within a half hour drive or less from our beautiful river rentals. If you are an adventurer then there are also a few day trips you can take from sight seeing to river rafting! Here are a few of our favorite places we have found over the years while staying in beautiful North Georgia!
Local Activities & Entertainment
Tiger Drive-in Theatre
This little drive-in is great on a starry night to take the kids to an “old School” way of seeing movies but with the modern upgrades of sound and screen! Perfect for the entire family!
Goats on the Roof
This is a whimsical little place that our daughter loves. You actually can feed the goats that live “on the roof”. Cool off with some ice cream and gem mining while visiting.
Southeastern Expeditions
If you love rafting then this is for you. Located a few miles from the resort in Clayton, GA experience a rafting adventure of a lifetime down the Chattooga River.
Smoky Mountain River Adventures
This is about an hour away and an easy drive. Great for a day trip and an easy drive. Perfect for kids or just a nice float down the river with some small rapids and a few with a bit of excitement.
Moonrise Distillery
This is a great place to relax with a drink made right on the property. Friday night offers music Bingo and live Music on Sunday afternoons. Take a tour of the distillery and see how it’s made.

HELEN, GA
We have always loved Helen, GA from the time when I was a little girl camping with my grandparents and still till this day I have a place in my heart for Helen. Check their city site to see what’s going on during the year. Helen has a water park for the kids, putt putt golf, shops, restaurants, and much more. You have to see Helen at least once in your lifetime just to say you have been there. (Betty’s Country Store has the best hand cut meat around!)
CHEROKEE, NC/GATLINBURG, TN
This is a gorgeous day trip through the Great Smokey Mountains and home to the Indian village and the very good play called “Unto these Hills”. If you are a gambler then try your hand at the casino in Cherokee or go over the mountain and come out on the other side in beautiful Gatlinburg TN. Home of “Ober Gatlinburg” and the “sky lift” and the Ripley’s aquarium. Dollywood and other great attractions and shows are just past Gatlinburg into Pigeon Forge.
TALLULAH GORGE STATE PARK
Tallulah Gorge is right at your doorstep. Just 2 minutes up the road to your left out of the resort is the entrance to Tallulah Gorge. It is a beautiful walk and its a heck of a stair climb for those of you that want to dare to go to the bottom. Stop in and ask the friendly staff at the welcome center which trail is for you. Take your cameras as you will not want to miss those pictures!
